Challenge

  • Purchasing relied on manually assembled sales, stock and supplier lead-time reports.
  • Existing reorder thresholds did not distinguish inbound FBA units from sellable stock.
02

Environment

  • Amazon SP-API inventory and sales reports.
  • Supplier lead-time data, purchase orders and an internal purchasing application.
03

Intervention

  • Built a replenishment model combining demand history, available inventory and committed inbound stock.
  • Added supplier-specific lead times, minimum order quantities and safety stock rules.
  • Developed buyer approval queues for suggested orders and flagged unusual demand changes.
04

Outcome

  • Purchasing teams receive prioritized, explainable replenishment suggestions.
  • Buyers retain final control over purchase order releases.
