FBM and FBA Amazon orders automation
Hisco's Amazon scripts broke during the MWS to SP-API transition. We rebuilt the codebase on SP-API, then automated FBM and FBA orders end to end into their ERP.

01
Challenge
- Amazon automation scripts failing during the transition from MWS to SP-API.
- Legacy code with outdated components, inefficient libraries and suboptimal functions.
- FBM and FBA orders had to reach the ERP without losing order information.
02
Environment
- Distributor with 32 stocking locations across the US, Mexico and Canada.
- Internal ERP, Digital Shipper for shipping, Blackbox for packaging.
- Live production order flow; edge cases surfaced only during testing.
03
Intervention
- Rebuilt the codebase and migrated all essential endpoints from MWS to SP-API.
- FBM flow: orders into ERP, carrier choice, label purchase, tracking IDs synced back.
- FBA flow: order status sync into ERP with stock logic and HOLD STATUS flags.
- Tested the whole system and adjusted automations for every edge case found.
04
Outcome
- FBM and FBA orders run through one automated path into the ERP.
- Tracking IDs update automatically in Amazon or the ERP as appropriate.
- Engagement since 2022 has grown into several follow-on projects.
